Don't ever remember Annunciation School or SCHS being closed for
"snow days" back in the day. Sixty years later: Enough, already!
Stick a fork in me ... I'm done!

My friend in DuBois a few years back said they made an announcement on the radio. "if it's 8 inches or less school is open"
I can remember the township plow coming in front of the bus to clear the way so we could go. The plow did the whole bus route first. Buses had chains on the tires and the drivers were very good driving in deep snow.

I used to live in Marquette Michigan...and 38" snowfalls were not uncommon...I don't think they ever missed school.
