Okay, okay....this board needs to wake up...and that means we have to talk about food!
This past Friday we were in Shenandoah making bleenies for the last time this season. Stood for 5 hours frying those grease cakes (and they were the best) in the hot sun. The line was long and everyone walked away with a dozen or more.
The Annunciation Church had their pierogy sale on the same day, too. Again, lines and containers and people walking away happy, smacking their lips.
Reminded me of the old days when Friday was bleenie and pierogy day and if lucky, fish on the table, too. And, homemade tomato rice soup.
Ahhhh.....coal region food....good for the soul.
